El-Sadr, M.D., M.P.H., Gerald Friedland, M.D., and Quarraisha Abdool Karim, Ph.D.: Integration of Antiretroviral Therapy with Tuberculosis Treatment In patients who have infection with the human immunodeficiency virus and tuberculosis, antiretroviral therapy could be initiated simultaneously as or immediately after the initiation of tuberculosis treatment.

‘As researchers and community partners, we are focused on improving the health status of the East L.A. Community and to being section of the procedure that encourages healthy changes for the grouped community and its residents,’ stated collaborator Dr. Anne Peters, a professor of medication at the Keck College of Medication at USC and director of the Comprehensive Diabetes Middle at the Roybal Community INFIRMARY. ‘We wish this grant will help to instill healthy nourishment and physical activity habits which will last a lifetime.’ Through a profession and training development system established as part of the grant, the center will work with community health workers called promotoras and can recruit students from general public high schools locally to act as ‘public health rookies’ in the various interventions.
